IR, 3rd post, Do Now

Prompt 1-

There are many intriguing questions and issues Cat and Mouse raises., especially with the famous murderer Gary Soneji.  He has murdered may innocent civilians and has not been caught once.  Some newspapers have named him Mr. Smith, while others call him Alien.  They call him Alien because they don’t believe that anyone human is capable of completing these unsolved murders.  Gary continues to recite that he read many murder books growing up, but the only difference between him and those characters/authors is that he is not crazy.  How can he not be crazy when he plans out murders that cannot be solved?  His first murder was when he was 15 and he buried a man at a farm and still to this day the man’s body is there.  How does he pick the people he wants to murder?  He claims to hate them and never forgets a thing he learns about them.  When Gary wants to kill someone the name is on his mind for days and days and is written not only in his brain, but in his heart as well.  How can he not call himself crazy?  And why is killing Alex Cross about to be his best murder of all?  What makes this murder so much better and different then the other murders he has pulled through?

Do Now, Final Speech, Good Bye Wissahickon :)

I would start off by congratulating everyone who graduated and wish everyone luck in their upcoming years on whatever path they decide to take their life next. I would share fond memories that will be with me for the rest of my life from Wissahickon; field hockey team, lacrosse team, the first day of high school, and teachers that meant a lot to me and made school worth going to. I would advise everyone to just hang in their even though times will get tough; were on our own now. I would tell everyone that I hope tons of happiness, good memories, and luck to come their way. I will make sure to let everyone know to not forget his or her roots here at Wissahickon and to stay safe. Then I would finish up by congratulating and wishing the best of luck once again to everyone.

Do Now, IR activity #2 (I changed my book)

Prompt 1:

The main character Gary Soneji is a famous mass murderer.  He seems like an absolute creep.  He is trying to murder Alex Cross and everyone that he loves.  He hates Alex Cross so much that he has a hard time finding anything that cane help him to hate him more.  It’s a rainy night and Soneji climbed into the Cross’s basement.  He sits around and just looks at everything the Cross’s own and critiques them.  He even goes has far has putting on Alex’s hat and smelling the little girls red sweater.  He seems to have retired from murdering but is planning to make an epic comeback.

Amir and Atonement, Do Now

Amir is seeking atonement for all his sins dealing with Hassan and how bad he treated him. I would describe them as horrid and unforgiveable. He needs to make amends for leaving him in the street to get raped, for hiding the watch under his mattress, for throwing pomegranates at him, and taking advantage of Hassan for not having a proper education. For him to become good again he would have to take more painful hits then Hassan took for him. He would have to save Hassan’s life and treat him as an equal. The only problem would be Hassan would just accept his apology.

Mistakes, Do Now, Tryouts

I have made countless mistakes throughout my life. Although I don’t usually regret my mistakes, I try to learn from them. I describe my most recent “regretted” mistake. Just this past weekend I had tryout for a New Jersey state team. The tryouts are invitational only for college players, players out of college, and a few selected that are still in high school. I tried out for the same team last year and stood a very little chance of making it. This year I felt it would be the same.
To my surprise, I was not. I have grown as a player and at times I felt just a equal as the players around me. I did not believe in myself and did not capitalize from it. The problem was I had already predicted the outcome of the tryouts before I even got there; I told myself I would not make the team and that I didn’t really want it. When the selections came out most of my friends in my age group made it and I did not. I know that its not because they are better then me, it’s because I didn’t truly want it and I didn’t truly believe in myself. That’s an everyday mistake that I must continue to work on.

Emma, Do Now, IR Into.

I read the first two chapters of Emma by Jane Austen.  This book starts out with the main character Emma living with her widowed father.  She claims she has a certain gift, playing matchmaker.  Just recently Emma introduces Mr. Weston and Miss Taylor to each other.  Not shortly after Mr. Weston and Miss Taylor got married.

Emma uses her looks to attract attention from men, but she has started to feel lonely lately.  The only one she feels close to her father and he has started to become sort of an annoyance, although she loves him dearly.  George has always been around for her but she still feels lonely.

I believe in future chapters she will continue to play matchmaker and have relationships that work out in the beginning.  Then I feel that she is going to wish she had a significant other for herself and everything will start to go down hill.  I think she will find that significant other in the place she least expected it, right in front of her.

Inspiring Picture, Do Now, The Lone Soldier

Have you ever had a rush of adrenaline fill so much within you that it knocks your breath away? That sort of rush was filled within my feet has I hurdled over countless rocks, jumped through streams, and climbed up and down slippery hills. I had a family that I needed to still take care of. There was no time to look back now. I was running alone and my mind was starting to play tricks on me. My feet finally slowed down when I reached a covered forest area. I was breathless has tears fell down my face.
The sun began to fall away in the distance and I tried to think of nothing. Being a soldier, I knew how to make camp. I sparked a fire and tried to think of nothing. My exhaustion took over me and you can’t stop yourself from thinking when you dream. Flashbacks from the day filled my head: the short quick glimpses of being ambushed by the Afghanistan’s, the scramble to free ourselves from the gasses that few overhead, the sound of men you called your brother scream and fall in defeat, and the look in their eyes. This all now haunted my dreams and made the journey ahead of me look long.
I had to find away back home to my beautiful wife and baby girl. The thought of them made it all the more important to survive. I had to survive, I was not ready to let them go, I couldn’t. I walked for days and days through unfamiliar territory, across streams that flow into the unknown, and having considering turning around because each tree looked as familiar as the first. I hadn’t eaten in days. Nor did I plan to start anytime soon. I took a break every so often to gather my thoughts and remind myself that rouged journey was worthwhile because of the prize in the end. I had not quite developed a plan, nor did I know where to start.
How could I make a plan? I had not source of communication, had no idea of where I was, and had no idea where the enemy troops where or what they were planning.

Kite Runner, Decisions, Do Now, Writing

Many factors go into one making a decision, like what you want, how it will effect the ones around you, is it the right choice, is it the wrong choice, will help you in the long run, etc. One of the biggest decisions a teenager makes growing up is choosing what college they want to go to, if they decide to go at all. This decision not only affects your future, it affects your family, friends, and society as a whole.
I had trouble deciding between the two colleges Boston University and Michigan State University. I had to consider all of the factors; location, weather, team, coach, majors, and happiness. I then broke it down. Michigan is far from home, but I have a lot of relatives scattered through out Michigan. Boston is not located as far away, but I have an aunt and uncle near by. In Michigan the weather is cold and snowy, but I love the snow. In Boston, the weather is cold but not too much different then PA. At MSU the team seemed down to earth and people I could see myself getting along with. I never got the chance to meet BU’s team. The coach at MSU, Rolf, trains in a European way and gives days rest to his players. BU’s Coach, Ainslee, trains hard and runs more of an American style play. Both coaches are equally liked and have knowledge of the sport. MSU had all the majors I wanted to look into concerning Nutrition, Dietitian, Kinesiology, and psychology. BU did not have the same level of education in these areas like MSU did. I decided I would be happier at MSU.
This decision effected the world around me because I took a stop someone else could have taken, I’m moving closer to relatives, moving farther from my close family, and taking courses that I’m passionate about.

Do Now, Spring Break, mp4

There was never a dull minute during my spring break. Friday night I went to the Phillies scrimmage with Dana DelConte and we ran into a couple friends. Saturday mourning I left for California to play along side the national field hockey squad. We trained everyday, twice a day, and no one could stay up past 9:30 because of how exhausted we were. On wed, we got a little bit of a break and took the afternoon off to go to Sea World. We show the dolphin show, Shamu, and a bunch of penguins. We continued to train throughout the week, and I took a red eye back to Philly Saturday night. When I came home unpacked my bags a little bit and then went to hang out with a few friends; we got ice cream from wawa and watched P.S. I Love You. To close my spring break was Easter. We went to my Grandparents house and had a delicious home cooked meal.

IND READING- The Freedom Of Writing, Prompt # 18, Chapter #18

Frank chose the title Angela's Ashes because most of the story takes place around what his mother, Angela. Angela had to go through many hardships in order to keep her children alive. First, She moved to Ireland with Malachy Senior to conceive and raise four children. Little did she know how Malachy Senior would act after they got married and moved to Ireland. Second she had to deal with Malachy not being able to keep a job, her families malnutrition, her children's death, and the embarrassment that came along with it all.
Angela
had to take the pain of watching Malachy lose job after job, using all the money he received at the pub, watching her two twins Oliver and Eugene McCourt die of starvation, watching herself become a beggar, and watching her children walk down the streets being laughed at because of how poor they were. She continued to look after her sons and never gave up by taking steps forward to do anything she could in order to see her son's have a life. The sad part was, in the end all her children left her for America and her husband remained irresponsibe.

If I could change the title of the book I would call it The Freedom Of Writing because writing is what freed Frank from the probable fate that laid in front of him. He gave hope to his younger brother, Malachy Junior, and was on the track to be poor and helpless for the rest of his life. He overcame that and made a living through his education of reading and writing.

IND READING- Trip to America, Prompt # 7, Chapter #17

My predictions from the previous chapters have come true. Frank earns enough money in order to sail to America and live his father's dream. This boat ride took him three years to accumulate enough money to sail on. He achieved this mass of money by saving the money from a post office job and writing letters for the ill. Although he regrets leaving his family and especially his mother, he looks upon New York's great lights. The memoir ends in his astonishment of these lights.

Angela's Ashes allowed me to infer that Frank found an opportunity in a writing a book because Angela's Ashes was created.

IND READING- Malachy's Step Of Bravery, Prompt # 5 , Chapter #12

Malachy Junior moved me in this chapter because he was the first sibling to leave the McCourt household and take control of his life. I was positive Frank was going to be the first to, considering he is the oldest. Malachy helps Frank put together a soccer team, calls Frank Robin hood because Frank steals from the rich and giving to the poor, and he cares about his future. He takes matters into his own hands and decides to get an education at the Army School of Music in Dublin leaving Limerick behind. "The Irish army is looking for boys who are musical and would like to train in the Army School of Music. They accept my brother, Malachy, and he goes off to Dublin to be a soldier and play the trumpet" (283, McCourt). The best thing for the McCourt family is to leave Malachy Senior behind and find ways to support themselves. Malachy junior is the only one that is on the way to freedom and peace. Hopefully he will send parts of his pay checks home to his family to help with his father has destroyed. I took Malachy step in being brave and branching out into the world by heart. It takes a strong person to do that.

IND READING- Born With The Gift To Write, Prompt # 6 , Chapter# 9

Due to Frank's obsession with Shakespeare, reading books, listening to his father's stories, telling stories, writing letters, and hardships he has had to live with, I have made the prediction he will become a writer. He will pay for his family away his father never could. In this chapter, Frank is diagnosed with the worse case of conjunctivitis the doctors have ever seen due to his constant reading. His mother continues to struggle in order to feed their family and Frank's father now left for England to get a job. Malachy Senior still does not send any pay checks home to the family because of his nights at the pub. Angela is forced to become a beggar and Frank begins to steal coal and food from richer families in order to survive. I predict that Frank McCourt is going to become an amazing writer and be able to pay for his family to eat and have a better home. He is going to move to America and live his father's dream of working in America. "If I were in America I could say, I love you, Dad, the way they do in the films, but you can't say that in Limerick for fear you might get laughed at" (210, McCourt).

IND READING- Don't Trust Your Father Frank!, Prompt #2 , Chapter #8

I am confused at this point in the story. Frank continues to love and respect his father, when his father loses all his jobs and spends all of the family's dole at the pub; leaving his family to starve. Frank proclaims the real Malachy Senior is the father he wakes up to, not the one drinking during the night at the pub. Every mourning Malachy Senior would sit and read the newspaper and tell Frank and the rest of his siblings stories, "if we say, Dad, tell us a story, he makes one up about someone in the lane and the story will take us all over the world, up in the air, under the sea and back to the lane"(209, McCourt). Why does Malachy Senior even bother telling his children stories when he wont even feed them? Malachy tells his sons that if they lived in America, everything would be different. He would get an office job and be able to support them. Why didn't he stay in New York with Angela when they met and then had the four children? Why did they move to Ireland? "I feel sad over the bad thing but I can't back away from him because the one in the mourning is my real father and if I were in America I could say, I love you, Dad, the way they do in the films, but you can't say that in Limerick for fear you might be laughed at" (210, McCourt). If his father wants to move back to America, why doesn't he get a job to try and move back? Why does he sit there and drink and proclaim everything would be better in America?
What confusses me the most is, Why doesn't Frank realize that if his father is to lazy to keep a job in Ireland, how is he going to be able to keep a job in America? America is built on hard work.

IND READING-The Powerless, Prompt #4, Chapter #5

Due to malnutrition and smoking, Malachy Senior and Angela must get their teeth removed and replaced with false teeth. I could not help but be surprised by this because it almost seems as if the teeth are portraying a deeper message. The chapter would have been fine if McCourt removed this detail in chapter 5. This brought me to believe McCourt added this teeth section for a certain reason. I did some research and came across McCourt's deeper mention.

When an adult losses a tooth, it resembles a transition between growing up and growing old. This transition forces the growing old adult to start looking at the next stage in life; death. Losing teeth brings feelings of helplessness and powerlessness into one's life. It resembles, failure, embarrassment, poor health, financial instability, abandonment, pain, and death. False teeth indicate fear and being hypocritical. All of these could not represent the life of the McCourt family any better.

The parents, Malachy Senior and Angela, have reached that hump in every adults life where they realize they are growing old. The families financial instability brings poor health, helplessness, powerlessness, failure, embarrassment, and pain to the four members. Malachy Senior is the main cause of the families financial instability because he spends all the money he earns at the pub. He can not keep any job a long period of time, resulting in his frequent unemployment and hurting family. This leaves Angela feeling helpless, powerless, and abandoned. She blames Malachy Senior for the death of their two children Oliver and Eugene McCourt and the pain she feels. Malachy Junior and Frank feel embarrassed because their classmates laugh at them for how poor they are. The false teeth represent Malachy Senior perfectly because they represent someone being a hypocrite. He claims he loves his children, but he chooses to go to the pub instead of feed his family and keep them healthy and alive

IND. READING- Left To Walk Alone, Prompt #14, Chapter #4

"The master says it's a glorious thing to die for the Faith and Dad says it's a glorious thing to die for Ireland and I wonder if there's anyone in the world who would like us to live. My brothers are dead and my sister is dead and I wonder if they died for Ireland or the Faith. Dad says they were too young to die for anything. Mam says it was disease and starvation and him never having a job. Dad says, Och, Angela, puts on his cap and goes for a long walk"(McCourt, 56).

This quote has a major importance to the book because it is now clear Frank McCourt walks alone, he is almost left to care for himself at this young age. Frank further proves his quiet wellbeing and being an observer. Frank realizes that by his teacher and father glorifying death, causes him and his classmates to stop following their ambitions.

Frank is also left to deal with his parents not getting along. His mother, Angela blames the loss of his brothers on Malachy, his father. She claims the reason they died was because Malanchy could not keep a steady job. This worries Frank because his father once again just walks out of the house and will not return for a couple hours. His father most likely will come home drunk, spend the money he earned working on beer instead of his family, and walk through the door singing drinking Irish folk songs.

IND. READING-The Pub Life, Prompt #1, Chapter #3

The current chapter brought a bitter taste to my mouth. I disliked every event in this chapter; on exception of the new born baby, Michael McCourt. Malachy McCourt, Frank's father, believes that the now reduced 16 shillings a week should go to his family, and the money he at work should go to the pub. Malanchy Senior is off drinking at the pub while his wife and three children are sitting at home starving. The three childern get tourtured by words for how much poverty their family is in. The students make fun of them for only being able to afford a pig's head for Christmas dinner and wearing shoes their mother made them from old tires. Malachy Senior as no dignity in being the man in the McCourt family. Angela McCourt, Frank's mother, cries herself to sleep some nights because Malachy Senior comes home drunk singing Irish folk songs. At the end of the chapter Malachy Senior ended up losing his job. If the father really loves his children as much as he says he does, then why treat them like this and be so selfish.

IND. READING- Never Travel Alone, Prompt #10, Chapter #2

Chapter two reminds me of an experience I had about 2 months ago in Dubia. When the McCourt famiy moves to Ireland they find that there is little money and no jobs available for them. Mr. McCourt finds out that his dole is only nineteen shillings a week; not passable for a family 4. Then, to make matters worse, Mrs. McCourt has a miscarriage. At the hospital she befriends a women names Nora Molloy. Nora goes with her to the supermarket to make sure any sales person does not cheat her for her money.

In Dubia I had a similar experience with the economy. People there were either very rich or very poor. The poor workers would work for hours upon hours a day and get paid next to nothing. Some worked so hard that they never really had time to shower, and a group of workers could be smelled from across a field. At the markets, women could not go alone. I went to a food market witth my Aunt, Nana, and Mother, and still were not completely safe. Men were the only allowed sales people. They would do almost anything they could to get your attention. Many would try and rob us of our money by asking for outrageous prices. They thought we didn't know any better because we were American. They would have got away with it, if my Aunt had not lived there. One man even went as far as following us to our car and placing watermelons in the trunk after we had already told him no several times. It is an experience I will never forget.

IND. READING-Sensitivity With a Twist of Humor, Prompt #11, Chapter #1

The author's style and use of language are closely related to what a typical Irish 8 year old boy would sound like; "Then they teach each other sad songs and Malanchy and I leave the swings and seesaws to sit with them on the bench and sing" (24, McCourt). The author's style of writting and use of language is extremely effective because I can relate to him. Being 18, I still remember certain parts of my childhood 10 years ago. Frank, the author, makes many references to song lyrics that mean something to him. I was 8 years old when I really started listening to song lyrics and forming ideas of what singer meant. For example his mother sang "Anyone can see why I wanted your kiss, It had to be and the reason is this could it be true, someone like you could love me, love me?" (23, McCourt). Frank's mother would sing these lyrics with joy everytime his father would get a new job.

The author's word choice does not detract from the memoir. His style inhances my feelings and understanding of him. Frank is very sensitive, but in his sensitivity he added humor. He obbserved everything that was around him.

Think like a Teacher, Do Now

In this section we see Che really transform into Che from Ernesto.  How does the poverty in Peru really influence his growth?

I choose this topic because I think that this is the section where Che really makes his transformation official.  He officially changed his name in previous sections, but I think he actually changed in this section.

Che, Do Now, Writing

Che wanted to become a leader that people all over would look up to and follow religiously. He had a major impact on the world around him.  Younger Che was just looking for adventure by traveling and absorbing information that fell in front of him.  He fell in love with the land and grew his own personal beliefs; socialism and being kind.  This personal beliefs changed has he grew into the older Che.  He became extremely controlling and was not open to other plans then his own.  He would not absorb anymore-useful information that was not in the same direction as his beliefs.  He wanted to not be dependent on other nations and jump-start the Chilean economy.

Do Now, TMD, Che, Chile

Che and his experiences with dogs have influenced his life in many ways.  He seems to over analyze every little detail that happens in his life.  A dog is meant to be a man’s best friend and Che seems to run into this “best friend” and ends up leaving him or hurting him in some way.  This can almost be foreshadowing his relationship with Fidel Castro.  These dog experiences also connect to him completely leaving his family and Cuba all together.  Dogs also represent loyalty to which Che finds it hard to stay loyal to someone or large amounts to people.

Do Now, 6 word, Writing

Self Ideology, Do Now

I live by my personal ideology everyday.   It is very important and unique to me.  I strongly believe that you should respect your body, be there for your family and true friends with no limits, make time for the things you love to do, be a good person, and be nice to as many people as you can because you never know when your going to need them.  I would go to great lengths to defend every single one of these characteristics.

Che, Do Now

We are comparing apples to oranges trying to connect what is happening now in Pakistan and what Che was trying to do in Bolivia.  The similarities in both events are that Che and The United States were/are trying to change the way individuals think.  The differences are that Che was all about socialism while The United States is all about democracy.  Che used more of a violent approach while The United States uses more of a force.

Che, Do Now, Writting

“The trip was decided just like that, and it never erred from the basic principle laid down in that moment: improvisation”(Guevara, 33).- This excerpt represents the aspects of Che’s voice because it uses Syntax, tone, and diction. The sentence is grammatically structured so that you have a basic understanding and then he finished up the sentence with the overall meaning: improvisation. His tone is calm but at the same time exciting and informative. His diction takes a simple event and turns it to more of a complex and thought-provoking sentence. “For me the sea has always been a confidant, a friendly absorbing all it is told and never revealing those secrets; always giving he best advise- it’s meaning noises can be interpreted anyway you choose” (Guevara, 34). - This quote represents Che’s writing style because it focuses on imagery, and detail. The imagery choice of words allows you to imagine the ocean in front of you, and almost picture a storm thundering and holding secrets that will never surface again. The detailed choice of words allows you to realize the meaning behind what he is writing. Looking outside the box. Instead of it just being a huge ocean in front of you, the words infer that that the ocean is what you make it. It can either be big and scary, or peaceful; “can be interpreted anyway you choose”.

Do Now, Who Killed Che?, Best Friends?

Based on my opinion, I believe that Fidel Castro killed and was responsible for Che’s death. Fidel did not physically kill Che; he mentally stabbed him in the back. Che wrote Fidel a letter that was to be read when Che passed away. Fidel read it basically as soon as he received it in front of all of Cuba while Che was still alive and breathing. The letter concluded that Che was finished with Cuba and resigning his citizenship and all the awards that he had earned. Cuba shunned Che leaving Che internally dead.

Do Now, Quote Letter, The Price Of Adventure

Dear Mother,

“There is nothing lonelier than adventure”. The loneliness has captured me in my travels thus far. I have left Chile to try and discover more about myself and help end poverty. I did not intend on it being this lonely. I sit here day to day with my pen and notebook taking notes and discussing true socialism. I would like to see a familiar face and laugh again. Don’t worry yourself about me; I plan to leave this quiet place in the next few months. I miss you dearly.

Do Now, Mission Statement, Nothing Can Go Wrong

Che’s personal mission statement should be, In the hands of revolutionists nothing can go wrong. His beliefs guided him through his whole life to believe this. His journey began when he was old enough to travel his home country for weeks by motorcycle. He fell in love with land and thus strongly believed in socialism. He believed that any wealth they received from sugar or any other export should be spread around neighboring countries. Share the wealth for free. Che was very loyal to the revolutionist’s thoughts. He had no problem murdering a man if it was going to help move forward the revolution.

Do Now, Documentary, Bravery is Only Found in the Hearts of the Strong

I would write a document about my Grandfather because I am amazed to hear the things he has accomplished and crave to know more. He was in the army as a nurse and had to walk through fields full of bombs and mines picking up bodies. He had to perform most of the surgeries without the doctor present because there was a shortage on doctors. After the army, he went to Michigan State University where he got a job as a real state agent and became a leading spokesperson for the Ford industry. He was the first man to introduced Ford to the Middle East. I also remember one story where him and a group of people were about to get on a plane and told everyone "were not taking this fight". That flight crashed a few hours later and had no survivors. He is an incredible man.

This documentary would be interesting to any audience because people can relate to him. Even though he accomplished more than many due in their lifetime, he is down to earth and respectable. Everyone can tie in something about his life to their own. He accomplished a lot that many could not with bravery. He still lives to tell his stories today.

Do Now, Che Documentary, I Believe Che is Traveling in the Wrong Direction

Based on what I know about Che, I would cover where he has traveled and what lead him to his beliefs. I would ask why did he pick his destinations? How did he go about pursuing his beliefs? Who were his followers? I would focus on his life and legacy describing his most significant battles and accomplishments.

Do Now, Road Trip!, You Must Try Europe's Chocolate!!

Traveling to Europe was the best trip I ever had. I toured Holland, Amsterdam, London, and the Netherlands all in the matter of two weeks. I would have field hockey practice every mourning followed by a game against one of the near by countries. I learned that another name for a turf field is a pitch. I saw many different pitches, small market shops, canals, and cities. I visited the famous Ann Frank museum, took peaceful boat rides, tried new food, shopped, and went to a flower farm. I remember the atmosphere relaxed, the weather being sunny with moist air, I could always smell chocolate, and if you didn't move out of a bikers way they would just run you over. I toured all these areas by plane, boat, bus, and by foot. My favorite method of transportation was by boat. Each canal was really beautiful because on both sides of you would be the colorful housing they use in Europe; narrow buildings stacked on top of each other. The trip was very interesting and worth while. If I could travel there again, I would probably go with a smaller group.

Do Now, Read A Book By It's Cover, Eclipse

Every time someone picks up a new book, it is judged based on the cover look, the title of the book, and who wrote the book. Most people, including me, always look at the cover first because that is what catches the eye first.
At the moment, Eclipse by Stephenie Meyers caught my attention early and has maintained it through the reading. After reading the first and second book, I had an idea of how Eclipse was going to be written. The black background makes the red ribbon stand out. It’s a simple cover with a lot of meaning. The eye grabber is the rip on the ribbon. The rip draws your attention and lets you infer that there will be a problem situation in the reading ahead.

Do Now, Beck, He Is Right!

My reaction to Beck was basically “what is he talking about? What is going on?” I soon caught on and was shocked. Overall I agree with Beck because he gave historical examples. Beck claimed the only reason that Che was put into a higher “light” and not looked at as a cold blooded killer, was solely because of Fidel Castro. Fidel used the western media and basically told them what to write. Reporters and writers look to find the latest gossip that will attract attention to earn money. Many reporters cared too much about the money and do not care if it's true or false. If what Beck says about being closely related to Hitler, there was a lot of false media going on.

Beck’s voice was the only aspect that left me questioning if everything he was saying was serious about. Beck used a sarcastic voice to try and get his point across. He used so much sarcasm that it was difficult to listen to him and hard to take him seriously. I think that if he were more serious during his speech I would not have these small doubts if everything he was saying was 100% true.
